Mr. Lewis was a retired brick mason, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a resident of Essex.
He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Lee from 195 until 1963. He then was married to Lorene Delay from 1968 until her death in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Lowell "Bud" Lewis of Puxico and Roy Lewis of Advance; two daughters, Shirley Lynn of St. Peters and Linda Keith of Dexter; by a special individual who served as his care-taker in his declining years, Eunice Hendrickson of Essex; one sister, Osa Mazo of Collinsville, Ill.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo Lewis and Arnold Lewis and four sisters, Audrey Pinkley, Mildred Sherrill, Billie Meyers and Berniece Durham.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 22. Funeral services will then be conducted at 12 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
