Opal Faye Summers, daughter of the late Robert Luke Thompson and Iva Jackson Thompson, was born on Dec. 2, 1937, at Pacola and died at her residence in Bloomfield on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at the age of 65.

Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and resident of Bloomfield.

She was united in marriage to Coye Summers on Jan. 24, 1977, at Dexter. Mr. Summers preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2000.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Summers of Bloomfield; two step-sons, Gary Summers and David Summers, both of Dexter; one brother, Craig Thompson of St. Peters; and one half-brother, Otha Smith of Arkansas.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Willie Smith and Ernest Smith; and one half-sister, Jeanette Scholley.

Mrs. Summers was cremated.

A memorial graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
