Fridis Pierce

Fridis Pierce, son of the late Dan and Ella Womack Perce, was born in Elizabeth, Ark., on Dec. 10, 1910, and passed away at the Beverly Healthcare in Bloomfield on Oct. 30, 2003, at the age of 92.

Mr. Pierce had been a resident of the Bloomfield community since 1940. He was a retired Foreman for Swift and Company in Dexter. On Nov. 30, 1931, he was married to Oletha Collins. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1983. On Sept. 14, 1985, he was married to Velma Underwood.

Survivors include his wife Velma Pierce of the home in Bloomfield; one daughter, Wilma Hovis of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6-8 p.m Saturday.

A funeral service will be held today, Nov.2, at 2 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew and Rev. Dan Sitz officiating.

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements.
