Alma Gray

Alma Gray, the daughter of the late William Koonce and Alice Franklin Koonce, was born Oct. 9, 1908, in Poplar Bluff, and died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at her residence. She was 95 years old.

She had lived in the St. Louis area for several years and owned and operated Gray's Trailer Park in St. Louis County until she retired in 1978. She loved gardening and yard work.

She had married Chester Gray, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one niece, Freda Miller of Romulus, Mich., four great-nieces, Carol Jarrell, Janet Hoffman, Denise Spicer and Sandy Lowe; four great-nephews, Danny Miller, Steven Miller, Randy English, and Tim English; five great-great-nephews; 11 great-great-nieces; and 12 great-great-great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lillie English; one brother, Allen Koonce; one nephew, Frank English, Jr.; two great-nephews, David and Kevin Miller; and one great-great-niece, Tracie English.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at White Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk with Rev. Jerry Metcalf, Rev. Donald Morgan, and T.L. Jarrell officiating.

Interment will follow at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
