Norrid-Crites exchange vows

Phyllis Talkington Norrid of Hopkinsville, Ky., formerly of Dexter, and Gary Lynn Crites of Essex were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Victorian Gardens Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

William Anderson officiated at the ceremony where the bridegroom sang "The Lord's Prayer" during the lighting of the unity candle.

The bride is the former self-employed realtor with Century 21 Town and Country.

The bridegroom is recently retired from farming in southeast Missouri.

A post wedding reception hosted by the bride and bridegroom was held Nov. 2, 2003, at Four Seasons, Oakland Manor, Hopkinsville. The bridegroom sang "Friends". Elizabeth Norrid, daughter of Greg and Sharon Norrid of Hopkinsville and granddaughter of the bride, kept the guest register. Isabella and Austin Norrid, daughter and son of Eric Norrid and Bobbi Norrid of Hopkinsville, and grandchildren of the bride, were bubble basket attendants.

A family reception hosted by the bride and bridegroom, will also be held Nov. 29, 2003, at Unique Gatherings in Dexter. Invitations are being sent.

Following a trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Hopkinsville, Ky., and Essex.

Prenuptial events included a dinner gathering at Applebee's on Tuesday, Oct. 21, hosted by Dolly DeFore of Hopkinsville, Ky.
