Velma "Belle" Tropf

Velma "Belle" Tropf, 90, of Advance, was born Feb. 14, 1913, at Advance, the daughter of the late Wiley and Carrie Summers Winchester, and died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Advance Nursing Center.

Mrs. Tropf was a member of the Advance First Baptist Church and the Advance ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. She had worked in the fitting department of the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance for over 32 years.

She and Lester Grindstaff were united in marriage, and he preceded her in death. She later married Amel "Pug" Tropf on Sept. 25, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1988.

Survivors include three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Dean Grindstaff; a brother, Red Winchester; two sisters, Oma Anderson and Alma Shelton.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Stan Gibson officiating.

Interment followed at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
