Donald Ray Farmer, son of the late Hershel "Jack" Farmer and Dolly Wilson Farmer, was born on Aug. 3, 1933, at Senath and died in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the age of 70.
Mr. Farmer was a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church, the former head ginner at the Stoddard County Cotton Company at Bernie, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War and a resident of Bernie.
He was united in marriage to Mary Frances Beacham on June 29, 1957, at Senath, and she survives of the home in Bernie.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Dan Wesley Farmer of Beaver Dam, Wis., Donald Keith Farmer of Scott City, and Derek Kevin Farmer of Jackson; one brother, Gerald Farmer of St. Charles; three sisters, Anita Cullum and Phyllis Farmer, both of Bloomfield, and Vickey Hartline of Dexter; and four grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Farmer and Odell Farmer.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.
Interment followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
