Betty Beck, daughter of the late James Sheppard and Nellie Croach Sheppard, was born on May 20, 1930, at New Madrid and died in the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at Farmington on Nov. 22, 2003, at the age of 73.

Mrs. Beck was a homemaker and a resident of Marquand.

She was united in marriage to Edward Acie Beck on April 28, 1951, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Beck preceded her in death on March 4, 1983.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Beck, Sr. of Marquand; one brother, Russell Sheppard of Gainesville; two sisters, Evelyn Taylor of New Madrid and Melba Moore of West Covina, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment followed in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
