Dennis Darrel Clark was born on Dec. 26, 1943, in Dexter and passed from this life at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at the age of 59. He is the son of the late Hollie and Sirphenia Wilson Clark. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Louise Shipman on Jan. 13, 1962.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte of the home in Dexter; four daughters and sons-in-law, Charla and Preston Watson, Jr. of Dexter, Regina and Mark Schweiss of Nixa, Tanya and Jeff Sipos of Kirkwood, and Jill and Todd Gibbs of Bloomfield; one granddaughter, Rachel Schweiss; six grandsons, Logan and Landon Watson, Austin Schweiss, and Donnie, Alex and Matthew Gibbs, and one step-grandson, Corbin Sipos; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Francis Mills of Lake St. Louis; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Edith Shipman of Bloomfield; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Jan Shipman of Dexter; Cletus Shipman and Donnie and Laurie Shipman of Bloomfield, Jan and Jay Asbell of Ozark, and Ronnie Shipman of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.
He lived most of his life in Dexter and was employed by Pepsi Cola until he took over the family business in 1977. In July, 1998, he closed the family business and began driving a truck over the road until his illness began in February, 2003.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Dexter Church of Christ officiated by Don Bahr.
Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis is charge of all arrangements.
