Lonnie Dodson, son of the late Homer Alexander Dodson and Bessie Alice Wilburn Dodson, was born on March 18, 1944, at Marston and died at his residence at Essex on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at the age of 59.

Mr. Dodson was a former automobile mechanic, a veteran of the United States Army service in the Vietnam War and a resident of Essex.

He was united in marriage to Pat Stroud on Feb. 22, 1968, at Parma. Mrs. Dodson preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2003.

Survivors include on son, Jonithan Lonnie Dodson of Bernie; one daughter, April Dodson of Essex; four brothers, Jerry Dodson of Essex, Benny Dodson of Boone, Iowa, Travis Dodson of Poplar Bluff and Homer Dodson of Risco; three sisters, Doris Gregg of Parma, June Eddings and Phyllis Kuethle of Wappapello; and five grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Dodson and Ulis Dodson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. James Malloy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
