Irene Dillard, daughter of the late Sam McDonald, was born Jan. 26, 1924, at Bethany, Miss., and departed this life in the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau Dec. 7, 2003, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Dillard was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Dudley. She was united in marriage to Troy Dillard Nov. 26, 1938, at Cotton Plant, Miss. Mr. Dillard preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1988.

Survivors include one son, William Leo Dillard of Mabank, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

The funeral service followed at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald Morgan officiating.

Interment followed in the Dudley Cemetery.
