Naidene Marie Sherman, 71, of Advance, was born Oct. 18, 1932, at Brownwood, the daughter of the late Fred and Violet Black Phelps, and died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was a homemaker, and she had worked at Morgan Funeral Home as a receptionist for three years. She was a graduate of Advance High School and a member of the Advance First Baptist Church.
She and Bill Sherman were united in marriage on Sept. 30, 1950, at Pocha, Ark., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Brad Sherman of Iowa City, Iowa, and Matt Sherman of Advance; a daughter, Cindy Corse of Independence; three sisters, Pauline Schwartz of Naples, Fla., Minnie Meeker of Nixa, and Patsy Puchbauer of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildre; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Phelps; and a sister, Dorothy Lucas.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Brad Sherman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
