Dowdy-King exchange vows

Jessica Lee Dowdy and Chad William King were united in marriage on November 8, 2003, at Fellowship General Baptist in Poplar Bluff. Rev. Byron Beck performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jim Dowdy and Maureen Dowdy, both of Dexter, and is the granddaughter of Wendall and Eva Dowdy of Dexter and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert Jefferis and Gloria Jefferis of Indiantown, Fla.

The groom is the son of Jim King and Debbie King, both of Poplar Bluff and the grandson of Bill and Juanita King of Puxico.

The maids of honor were Brandi Dowdy, sister of the bride, and Jessica Sifford, friend of the bride, both from Dexter.

Jeremy Booker of Poplar Bluff and Marcus Pattillo of Poplar Bluff served as best men.

Ushers included Dusty Scates, friend of the bride, and Justin Tune, friend of the groom; both reside in Dexter.

McKinna Sifford, friend of the bride, and Kellin Cremeens, nephew of the groom, served as flower girl and ring bearer.

Guest book attendant was Shannon Koenigsfeld of Fenton, cousin of the bride.

Candles were lit by Kaitlin Koenigsfeld, cousin of the bride, and Bethany King, cousin of the groom, to "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman.

The wedding party entered to "Tie Us to Your Heart" by Toni Becker. The bride entered to "The Wedding March" played on the organ by Cole Koenigsfeld, cousin of the bride. The bride was given away by her father and younger brother, Jimmy Glen Dowdy Jr.

During the lighting of the unity candle, Brandi Dowdy sang "Standing Right Next to Me" by Karla Bonoff.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Poplar Bluff. Toasts were given by Shannon Cremeens, brother-in-law of the groom, and by the best men and maids of honor.

The rehearsal dinner was held on November 7th at Hickory Log in Dexter.

Mrs. King is a 1999 graduate of Dexter Senior High School and is employed at Poplar Bluff Internet, Inc.

Mr. King is a 1996 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and is employed with Century 21 as a real estate agent.

The couple will be going on a honeymoon cruise in December. They will be residing in Poplar Bluff, MO.
