Willena Daniel

Willena Daniel, the daughter of the late Louie E. and Novella Varble Sielert, was born in Leora on Jan. 3, 1917, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Daniel had lived most of her life in the Dexter area. She was a graduate of Dexter High School and had worked as a case worker for the Division of Family Services for 15 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dexter and was a former member of the Dexter Civic and Study Club.

On May 12, 1939, she was married to Dallas M. Daniel in Charleston.

Surviving are her husband, Dallas M. Daniel of Dexter; one son, Don V. Daniel of Essex; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son, L.J. Daniel on June 12, 1995; and one brother, Varble V. "Bud" Sielert on July 21, 2000.

Visitation was held from 5-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter officiating.

Interment was on Tuesday morning in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
