Marvin E. Jones, son of the late J. Tribble Jones and Ora Walker Jones, was born on June 8, 1921, at Bernie and died in his residence at Kansas City on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at the age of 82.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Ballwin Baptist Church at Ballwin, a retired administrative law judge for the Envionmental Protection Agency in Kansas City, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II where he received three purple hearts, a resident of Kansas City formerly of Dexter and Ballwin.
He was united in marriage to Vivian Norman on Nov. 10, 1943, at Bernie. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2000. He then married Edna Cokley Carlisle on Feb. 13, 2002, at Clearwater, Fla. She survives of the home in Kansas City.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lynn Stone and husband Don of Ballwin, Susan Muenks and husband Jeff of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Emily Fowler of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Garcia Lee Jones and Charles Maurice Jones; one sister, Lucille Jones.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 29, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery near Dexter.
