James C. Morse

James C. Morse, son of the late Allen Morse and Myrtle Whitehead Morse, was born on May 25, 1929, at Powe, Mo. and departed this life at his home in Dorsey, Ill. on Dec. 28, 2003, at the age of 74.

Mr. Morse and his wife owned and operated the Morse Auction Company for 37 years. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force serving in World War II, a 30 year member of the Bethalto Lodge #406, a member of the Ainad Shrine Temple, and a resident of Dorsey, Ill.

He was united in marriage to Norma Holshouser on Sept. 4, 1960, at Wood River, Ill. Mrs. Morse survives of the home in Dorsey.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Larry Morse of Bellville, Ill. and Dennis Morse of Doniphan.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Worley and Carolyn Black; by one brother, Victor Morse.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9-10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004. A memorial service will then be conducted at 10:30 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery near Campbell.
