Vanita Conner

Vanita Conner, daughter of the late Nathan Simpson Noyes and Katy Louisa Freeman Noyes, was born on June 16, 1922, at Sikeston and died in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center at Dexter on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the age of 81.

Mrs. Conner was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dexter, a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #311 and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Sherman Boone on Nov. 20, 1941, and to this union three children were born. She then married Willis Conner on April 26, 1985. Mr. Conner survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jim Boone and wife Pat of Dexter, David Boone and wife Linda of Batesville, Ark.; one daughter, Leslie Palmer and husband Dave of Syracuse, Ind.; three step-children, Sue Kneal and husband K.R. of Oregon, Carol Wilcox of San Francisco, Calif., and David Conner of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Wiss of Rogers, Ark., Mildred Bartlett and Lela Mae McElroy , both of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver Noyes and Findley Noyes; and one sister, Lucille Bokovoy.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Leist officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
