S.R. "Wes" Schuchart

S.R. "Wes" Schuchart, 91, of Sikeston, died on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at 10:20 p.m. at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1912, in Union to the late Rudolph P. and Minnie C. Hanneken Schuchart, Sr.

He was a local farmer and owner of Schuchart Holstein Dairy for many years.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3151.

He married Ella M. Heuiser on April 23, 1935, in Sikeston, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1999. They were married for 64 years at the time of her death.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Schuchart of Sikeston; a son, Daniel Schuchart of Bloomfield; three sisters, Martha Sachs and Stella Foster, both of Arlington, Va., and Alice Howard of Sun Valley, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Don Schuchart and John Schuchart; four brothers, John Schuchart, R.P. Schuchart, Jr., Robert Schuchart and Emil Schuchart; and one sister, Ada Johnson.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at St. Francix Xavier Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Rolwing of St. Francis Church officiating.

Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
