John Wesley Harvey died at his home Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the age of 73.
He had lived in the St. Louis area most of his life. He was born April 9, 1930, in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from County Cab Co. after 40 years service.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter, John M. and Linda Harvey of Bloomfield, Shantell and Tom Murry of Cuthbertson, Mich., and Maxwell D. Harvey of St. Clair. Surviving brothers and sisters include Clyde Harvey, Evelyn Umphrey, Norma Coleman, Bobby Harvey, and Mary Ann Clements; several surviving grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Marie (Fowler) Harvey; his ex-wife, Eva Lou (Dement) Harvey; two brothers, Joe Harvey and Ronnie Harvey; and one sister, Clarabella Busick.
Graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
