Ella Brown

Ella Brown, daughter of the late Douglas Estes and Nancy Cowan Estes was born on March 23, 1911, in Stoddard County and died in the Village Health Care Center at Broken Arrow, Okla., on Jan. 6, 2004, at the age of 92.

Mrs. Brown was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing Company in Dexter and a former resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to James Edward Brown on Dec. 24, 1932, in Bloomfield. Mr. Brown preceded her in death in 1934.

Survivors include one son, Paul Brown of Broken Arrrow, Okla.; two sisters, Julia Ferrara and Sarah Marie Mossman, both of Dexter; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters; and one grandson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Rick Patterson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
