Alfred Haney, son of the late Smith James and Madge Phipps Haney, was born at Commerce on Nov. 18, 1928, and died at Beverly Healthcare on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at the age of 75.

Mr. Haney had lived in the Bloomfield community the past several years. He was a retired farmer and rancher and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda, of the home near Bloomfield; three sons, James Smith and Jeffery Scott Haney, both of Bloomfield, and Michael Allen Haney of Dexter; one daughter, Deborah Kay Christian of Bloomfield; three brothers, Eugene and Joe Haney, both of Dexter, and Rev. John Haney of Rock Bridge, Ill.; five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at the Zion Cemetery near Bloomfield with Rev. John Haney officiating.

Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery.
