Beatrice F. Hester

Beatrice F. Hester, daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie Cantrell Faulkner, was born at Morehouse on Oct. 4, 1917, and died at Beverly Healthcare in Bloomfield on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Hester was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church in Bloomfield and was a retired cook from the Bloomfield Public School. On May 19, 1934, she was married to Paul Hester at Beech Grove Church near Bloomfield, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1978.

One daughter, Rosalie Dooley, preceded her in death on March 30, 1992; three brothers, Norman, Charles and Paul David, and one sister Joyce also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Anne Gilmore of Bloomfield; two sons, Gary Hester of Bloomfield and Jerry Hester of Poplar Bluff; five brothers, George Faulkner of Marble Hill, Carl Faulkner of Munford, Tenn., Gilbert Faulkner and John Vaughn, both of Dexter, and Sam Faulkner of Bloomfield; three sisters, Geneva Nelson of Bloomfield, Virginia Merideth of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Donna Faulkner of Bend, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bill Fox and Rev. Bob Holland officiating.

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
