Virginia Phillips, daughter of the late Lee Ramsey and Lydia Denton Ramsey, was born on Sept. 13, 1926, at Burlington, Colo., and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at the age of 77.
Mrs. Phillips was a former inspector for Elder Manufacturing Company at Dexter and Bloomfield and was a resident of rural Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Donald Phillips on March 9, 1947, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Phillips survives of the home near Dexter.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Larry Dale Phillips of Dexter and Marvin Dean Phillips of Jefferson City; two daughters, Eonnis Kay McAnulty of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sharon Darlene Summers of Dexter; three sisters, Lorraine Melker of Littleton, Colo., Arlene Starkey of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Melba Lemmons of Dexter; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Danny Lee Phillips, and one brother, Otis Ramsey.,
Visitation will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:30 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.
Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
