Opal Miller

Opal Duley Miller, daughter of the late William Fulkerson and Grayce Chasteen Fulkerson, was born on April 10, 1914, at Bloomfield and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Jan. 18, 2004, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the First General Baptist Church at Dexter, formerly employed as the nurse for Dr. Robert Jibben, D.O., in Dexter, and was a resident of Dexter.

She was first united in marriage to John Raymond Duley on Dec. 21, 1931, at Piggott, Ark. Mr. Duley preceded her in death on June 13, 1967. She then married Rev. Stephen Miller on July 20, 1972, at Dexter. Rev. Miller preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, John W. Duley and Wayne Duley, both of Dexter; four daughters, Jo Ann Gibson and Annis Hughes, both of Dexter, Janis Duley of Fayetteville, Ark., and Brenda Eubanks of Bloomfield; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edison Fulkerson and one sister, Ella Clark.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating.

Interment followed in the Hagy Cemetery.
