Karlene Cambron

Karlene Cambron, the daughter of the late Richard Wooten and Vienna Ruth Heflin Bryant, was born in Rose Hill on Sept. 16, 1914, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Cambron had lived in the Morehouse area most of her life. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse.

On Feb. 22, 1932, she was married to Sherman C. Cambron, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1993.

Surviving are two sons, Sherman Cambron, Jr., of Doniphan, and Billy Joe Cambron of Wappapello; four daughters, Alta Halley of Cottage Hill, Ill., Sherry Bowers of Sikeston, Peggy Tillman of Morehouse, and Vaneda Williams of Bloomfield; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with the Rev. Dallas Reagan of Murray, Ky., officiating.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
