Freemond "Bud" Fuwell

Freemond "Bud" Fuwell, the son of the late Roy Gilbert and Icy Marie Jerls Fuwell, was born in Portageville on May 9, 1937, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Jan. 15, 2004, at the age of 66.

Mr. Fuwell had lived most of his life in Bloomfield. He was employed at Arvin Automotive for 18 years where he worked in machine repair. He and his wife opened their home for foster care in 1982; and since 1996, they owned and operated Hilda Fuwell's Residential Care Facility near Bloomfield.

On July 14, 1956, he was married to Hilda Gauldin in Chicago, Ill.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda Fuwell of Bloomfield; two daughters, Deborah Graebner of Pacific and Teresa Allen of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Leamond Fuwell of Puxico and Bufford Fuwell of Bloomfield.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Bentley of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
