Florence B. Miller

Florence B. Miller, the daughter of the late Snowden and Maggie Ellen Carter Bailey, was born in Dexter on Nov. 25, 1902, and died at the Gideon Care Center on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at the age of 101.

Mrs. Miller had lived in the Dexter area all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter where she attended the Delphenia Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Walnut Lane Goodwill Club.

On Nov. 2, 1920, she was married to Amon E. Miller in Dexter. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1992.

Surviving are one son, Bobby Lee Miller of Dexter; two daughters, Norma Jean Bradley of Cave-in-Rock, Ill., and Sue Meyer of Dexter; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Lee Bailey and J.C. Bailey of Clarkston, Mich.; and one sister, Mary Helen Keith of Waterford, Mich.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Amon Miller, Jr., on June 20, 1943, six brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Chenoweth and Rev. Mike Watkins, both of Dexter, officiating.

Private graveside services and interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
