Mr. Rickman was a resident of Bloomfield, a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, and taught Sunday School there for 20 years. He was a retired employee of Purolator in Dexter and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict.
On June 16, 1957 he was married to Doris Elaine Cowgur and she survives of the home in Bloomfield. Other survivors include three sons, Billy Dean Rickman of Bloomfield, Wayne Rickman of Dudley, and Freddie Rickman of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two-step great-grandchildren. Besides his parents one brother, Marvin Rickman, preceded him in death.
Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield on Saturday, February 14, 2004.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 15, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Mike Arthur officiating.
Interment followed in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
