Helen Northington

Helen Northington, daughter of the late Joseph Warren Rinabarger and Elenor Springer Rinabarger, was born Nov. 8, 1922, at Des Moines, Iowa, and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the age of 81.

Mrs. Northington was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dexter, a registered nurse for 47 years, the former school nurse for the Richland School District, a member of the Order of Eastern Star #311 for over 50 years, a member of the P.E.O. for over 50 years, a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Dr. Floyd C. Northington on May 25, 1952, at Wichita Falls, Texas. Dr. Northington survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dr. Joseph W. Thompson of Des Peres and Randy Northington of Dexter; one daughter, Anne Newell of Dexter; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Warren Rinabarger.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. An Eastern Star service will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. and will be followed by an Elks Memorial Service.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Leist officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Dexter or to the Elks National Foundation in care of the Dexter Elks Lodge.
