Edward Riggins, age 70, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Jefferson Barracks. Mr. Riggins was born Sept. 1, 1933, at Parma.

He had lived his early life near Puxico. He was a retired construction worker and a veteran of the Korean War.

He was married to the former Nadine Tanner.

Surviving are one son, Travis Riggins of Collinsville, Ill.; two daughters, Janice Riggins of Morehouse and Mitzi Riggins of Dexter; three brothers, Larry Riggins of Puxico and John and Howard Riggins of California; five sisters, Joy Hampton of Puxico, Lorene Abernathy of Dexter, Mary Hays and Helen Walker of St. Ann, and Sarah Aarant of St. Charles; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Bloomfield V.A. Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Full military rites will be after the service.

Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico is in charge of the arrangements.
