Ruth Marcus

Ruth Marcus, daughter of the late Harley Schrader and Addie Looney Schrader, was born on April 16, 1924, at rural Fagus and died in her residence at rural Qulin on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Marcus was a member of the Fagus General Baptist Church, a retired inspector for Elder Manufacturing in Dexter, a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary, a former resident of Dexter and a resident of rural Qulin.

She was united in marriage to Leon Marcus on July 11, 1946, at Chicago, Ill. Mr. Marcus survives of the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Gloria Bell of Bloomfield; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-granchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gaylord Leon Marcus; four brothers, Buford Schrader, Carl Schrader, Willard Schrader, and Claude Schrader; and one sister, Pearl Schrader.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Gary Hancock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
