Ines Marie Owens Mincey, 89, a resident of Malden, the daughter of Riley Thacker and Maggie Moore Thacker, was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Advance and died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare of Dexter.
She was first married to W.H. "Big Boy" Owens on Sept. 9, 1933, at Campbell. He preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1981. She later married Cecil Mincey on July 3, 1988, and he preceded her in death in August of 1997.
She was a homemaker, volunteered at Malden Nutrition Center, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of First General Baptist Church located in Malden.
Other survivors include five sons, Ed Owens of Malden, Jim Owens of East Prairie, Roy Owens of Malden, Ron Owens of Parma, and Bob Owens of Dexter; two step-daughters, Laura Luke of Malden and Othella Pierce of O'Fallon; one step-son, Bob Mincey of St. Peters; one sister, Geneva Kincade of Union City, Tenn.; 29 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Leroy, and James Thacker; one sister, Lorene Hill; and one grandson, Stanley Owens.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton.
