Harlin Edward Kennedy, 83, of Wardell, formerly Advance, was born Feb. 8, 1921, at Oran, the son of the late Arthur and Mary Lawson Kennedy, and died Wednesday, March 4, 2004, at the Gideon Care Center.

He had worked as a baker for Bunny Bread. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

On Nov. 2, 1984, he and Mary Kincade were united in marriage at Wardell, and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kennedy of Wardell; one son, Jerry Kennedy of Scott City; one daughter, Barbara Modglin of Scott City; one step-son, Junior Kincade of Wardell; three step-daughters, Joyce Wilson of Wardell, Shirley Keown of Farmington, and Debra Newsom of Hayti; two sisters, Shirley Ladd of Zalma and Violet Bock of Advance; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 8, 2004, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Ray Placher officiating.

Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
