William Vernon Brewer

William Vernon Brewer, son of the late Delbert Brewer and Martha Petty Brewer, was born July 4, 1926 in Lilbourn, Mo., and died on Friday, March 5, 2004, at his home in Clarkton at the age of 77.

Mr. Brewer was a carpenter, and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarkton and the Parma VFW. He was married to Willine Nunn on December 12, 1964; the couple later divorced.

Mr. Brewer is survived by two sons, Harold Wayne Brewer of Moline, Ill., and Robert Brewer of Campbell, Mo.; two daughters, Ruth Denise Brewer of Dexter and Kelly Brewer of Malden; by his former wife Willine Brewer of Bernie; by two step-daughters, Lisa Robbins of Marston, Mo., and Sharon Ward of Palm Beach, Fla., by one sister, Mary Prater of St. Louis, Mo., and by 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Brewer; one sister, Vernice Vaniger; three brothers, Fred Brewer, Roy Brewer and Trenton Brewer and one half brother, Lawrence Tackett.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Chuck Pipkins officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
