Mary Estes Banas

Mary Estes Banas, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Thursday, March 04, 2004. She was a resident of College Harbor Retirement Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., for the last seven years. Before moving to St. Petersburg, she lived in Winter Haven, Fla., with her husband, the late Rudolph Banas.

Mrs. Banas was a small business owner in her home state of Missouri before retiring to Florida in the 1970's. In Missouri, she was a former resident of Sikeston and Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Banas was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church of Winter Haven; a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Mrs. Banas was the last surviving child of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Estes of Essex. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Irene Kruse of Dexter, and many nieces and nephews including: June Marie Coffey of Dexter, MO; Jo Ann Chiste of Summerfield, Fla.; James Estes of Cape Girardeau; Jerry Estes of Austin, Texas; Michael Paul Estes of Fort Walton, Fla.; Dorothy House of Cape Girardeau; Shirley Lundy of Dexter; Mary Mahoney of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Eileen Ray of El Cajon, Calif.; and Mary Vowels of Dexter.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Leist officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
