Joseph Johnson, 61, was born at Hermondale, Mo., on July 12, 1942, the son of the late Annie Mae Hughes, and died Sunday, March 7, 2004, 2004, at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Johnson was an owner and operator of a barber shop for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Johnson; two sons, Joe Johnson, Jr., of Green Bay, Wisc., and David Davis; two daughters, Brenda Johnson and Cynthia Wilson; two brothers, Charles Wilson of Cleveland and Victor Hughes of New Madrid, Mo.; five sisters, Larane White, Janice Wallace and Sharon Johns of Malden, Mo., Mary Hester of Cleveland and Ada Pullum of Indianapolis, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, 2004, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Elder James Fair officiating.

Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery near Malden.
