Rosa Belle Pruett

Rosa Belle Pruett, daughter of the late W.D. and Stella Carson Walker, was born in the Vinson Community of Stoddard County on Dec. 6, 1919, and died at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at the age of 84.

Mrs. Pruett has spent all her life in Stoddard County. She was a member of Liberty General Baptist Church at Aid, a member of the Liberty Hill Missionary Society, the Gideons Auxiliary, a member of the Aid Extension Club since 1979, and was employed as a receptionist at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield for several years.

On Sept. 18, 1937, at New Madrid, she was married to Ellis Pruett, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Gale Pruett of Advance; two daughters, Freda Mott of Guthrie, Okla., and Vicki Griffin of Edmond, Okla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant child and 12 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Interment will follow in the Harper Cemetery at Aid.
