Mary Anna Duer
Mary Anna Duer of Jacksonvile, Fla., formerly of Puxico, returned to her Lord in her home in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday, March 20, 2004. She was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Blue Springs.

She was married to Milo Duer Sept. 30, 1937, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1991.

Mrs. Duer was a pastor's wife for many years and served the First Baptist Church of Puxico during her husband's ministry there from 1963-1966. She returned to Puxico in 1989 to retire there with her husband following her service as the Dean of Women at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal from 1967-1980.

Mrs. Duer moved to Florida in 1997 where she lived until her death.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra and son-in-law, Dr. Dale Brandt of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Shirley (Clinton) Duer of Dexter; one sister, Mrs. Opal Cleland of Fort Smith, Ark.; one brother, Robert Stone of Stone Mountain, Ga.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter will be in charge of visitation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in the First Baptist Church at 308 Richardson in Puxico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, in the First Baptist Church in Puxico with Rev. Douglas Clinton of Covington, Tenn., officiating.

Interment will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery.
