Marjorie Edwards, daughter of Rachel McClard Barker and the late William Albert Barker, was born on Dec. 14, 1932, in Dexter and died at her residence in Dexter on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the age of 71.

Ms. Edwards was a member of the First Christian Church in Dexter, secretary of the First Christian Church in Dexter, a member of Stoddard County Service Organizations, and lived in Dexter most of her life.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one son, David Edwards of Farmington; two daughters, Diane Berry of Neelyville and Denise Nelson of Dyss Air Force Base, Texas; one brother, Bill Barker of Dexter; three sisters, Virginia Fithian and Wanda Chambers, both of Lewistown, Ill., and Angelyn Jackson of Athens, Ala.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Swinger.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
