He had been a truck driver and timber worker, and he was a member of the Zalma Masonic Lodge.
On Feb. 7, 1953, at Marble Hill, he was united in marriage to Shirley Kennedy, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Gerald Ladd of Sturdivant; two daughters, Patty Bitterman of Advance and Phyllis Rutherford of Sturdivant; a brother, Jim Ladd of Jackon; four grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie; and two brothers, Charles and Mitchell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 1, 2004, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with Rev. Keith Price officiating.
Interment will follow in Balch Cemetery in Zalma.
