Archie Batchelor, Jr

Archie Batchelor, Jr., 84, a resident of Malden, was born March 21, 1920, the son of the late Archie Batchelor, Sr., and Maude Forbes Batchelor, and died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Malden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

On April 5, 1947, he was united in marriage to Jewell Nadine Thomason in Piggott, Ark.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Batchelor of Malden; three daughters, Judith Ann Garner of Dexter, Bonnie Lynn Batchelor and Susan Fanney, both of Malden; three brothers, Artell Batchelor, Bob Batchelor, and Bill Batchelor; two sisters, Daphna Allen and Dortha Davis, both of Malden; one grandson; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Batchelor; and two brothers, Raymond Batchelor and Buford Batchelor.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until service time Friday, April 2, 2004, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden with Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.

Interment followed in Rosewood Cemetery.
