Richard 'Dick' Grobe

Richard Grobe, son of Elsie Wilhelm Grobe from Poplar Bluff and the late Paul E. Grobe, was born Dec. 26, 1939, at Poplar Bluff and died at the Missouri South Healthcare in Dexter on Sunday, April 11, 2004, at the age of 64.

Mr. Grobe was a former co-owner of Tractor Supply Company of Sikeston, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, attended the First Christian Church, and a resident of Dexter.

On Aug. 14, 1959, he was united in marriage to Marrine Green at Poplar Bluff, and to the union one son was born. Mrs. Grobe survives of the home in Dexter.

Other than his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Amy Grobe of Dexter; his mother, Elsie Grobe of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Paul Dale Grobe of Poplar Bluff and Don Grobe of Montgomery, Ala.; two grandchildren, Emily and Evan Grobe of Dexter; and by nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Grobe.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Children's Home.
