Travie Burleson, daughter of the late Henry and Lucrita Mann, was born on July 25, 1916, at Bear Creek, Ala., and died at her residence in Dexter on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Burleson was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to T.D. Burleson on July 23, 1933, at Hamilton, Ala. Mr. Burleson preceded her in death on June 13, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Reed Burleson and Wafe Burleson, both of Dexter; one daughter, Ponna Mahan of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at the Dexter Church of Christ with Freeman Mahan and Todd Clippard officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
