Ruby Ann Tibbs, the daughter of the late William Franklin and Ella Mae Blair Provance, was born in Clarkton on March 7, 1927, and died at Beverly Health & Rehabilitation Center in Dexter on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at the age of 77.
Mrs. Tibbs had lived most of her life in Dexter. She had attended the First General Baptist Church in Dexter when her health permitted. She had been a laundry worker at the Dexter Nursing Center of many years before her retirement.
Surviving are one son, Joseph L. Tibbs of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Sharon Goodman and Ruby Elaine Hurley, both of Dexter; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one brother, Dalton Provance of Malden; and two sisters, Eva Brannon of Qulin and Kathryn Graves of Branson;
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
