Beulah Tumbleson

Beulah Tumbleson, the daughter of the late Elihu, Sr., and Bethany McAlister Jones, was born in Hagarville, Ark., on Feb. 23, 1913, and died at the Miner Nursing Center on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the age of 91.

Mrs. Tumbleson had lived in Arkansas, moved to Missouri in 1942, and then moved to Essex in 1967. She was a member of the Taylor General Baptist Church near Essex.

On Jan. 16, 1931, she was married to Victor Tumbleson in Hagarville, Ark. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Tumbleson of Sikeston and Howard Ray Tumbleson of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Sharon Null of Cape Girardeau; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ira Jones and Elihu Jones, Jr., both of Clarksville, Ark.; and three sisters, Eula Owens of Lamar, Ark., Iva Rushing of Clarksville, Ark., and Earlene Davis of Russellville, Ark.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Burl A. and Bill Tumbleson, four brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, in the Mountain Home Baptist Church near Lamar, Ark.

Interment will follow in the Minnow Creek Cemetery near Lamar, Ark., with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
