Billy J. Walpole, son of Larry and Mary Cowgur Walpole, was born Aug. 21, 1972, at Kissimmee, Fla., and died at his home in Dexter on Friday, May 21, 2004, as a result of injuries received in an accident.

Mr. Walpole had spent most of his life in the Bloomfield community but had lived in Dexter the past three years. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Morehouse and was employed at Good Humor Ice Cream in Sikeston.

On June 16, 2001, he was married to Tayna King.

Survivors include his wife, Tayna Walpole, of the home in Dexter; his parents, Larry and Mary Walpole of Bloomfield; two sisters, Michelle Walpole of Bloomfield, and Rachel Johnson of Kissimmee, Fla.; two brothers, Mike Corbin and Christopher Nixon, both of Herman; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders Walpole of Dexter.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Gary Cooper and Rev. Mike Arthur officiating.

Interment followed in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
