Doris M. Davis, 86, daughter of the late James Walter Ponder and Myrtle Lenore Hill Ponder, was born Jan. 22, 1918, at Desloge and died Friday, May 21, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Bloomfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen "Jamie" Hanna of DeSoto and Mary Lucas of Festus; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hilda Rabadeaux of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Richard S. Davis.

Visitation was held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus with Rev. Richard Carter, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment followed in Bloomfield Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday.
