Elmer R.L. Raymond, 71, of Gosnell, Ark., and formerly of Bernie, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville.

Born June 24, 1932, in Scott County, the son of Ernest Rodney and Lillie Beatrice Raymond, he had been a resident of Gosnell for the past year. He was a farm worker and was affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Raymond, and his sister, Imogene Caldwell.

Mr. Raymond leaves his wife, Mary Catherine Carrigan Raymond, of the home; his children, Elizabeth Catherine Talkington of Norman, Okla., Mark Anthony Carter of Spar, Fla., Victoria Lynn Allen of Bernie, Matthew R.L. Raymond of Sikeston, Luke Apollo Raymond of Ft. Meade, Md., Daniel Paul Raymond and John Adam Roberson, both of Bernie, Julianna Danielle Yeigh of Gosnell, and Joshua R.L. Raymond, also of Gosnell; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until service time Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 827 Euclid, Sikeston.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2004, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1201 S. Kingshighway, Sikeston, with Bishop Michael Comer officiating.

Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.
