Wilma Lemons

Wilma Lemons, daughter of the late Olando Smith and Ann Tucker Smith, was born April 21, 1915, at Essex and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Lemons was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, a housewife and resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to James David Lemons on Aug. 18, 1931, at Essex. Mr. Lemons preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1973.

Survivors include four sons, Larry D. Lemons of Stephens City, Va., Jimmie Glenn Lemons, Benny Lemons and Harold G. Lemons, all of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe Lemons in infancy.

Visitation was held from noon until 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were then conducted at 2 p.m. June, 1, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Interment followed in the Essex Cemetery.
