Carroll Findley

Carroll Findley, son of the late Samuel Findley and Barbara Capps Findley, was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Stoddard County and died in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 31, 2004, at the age of 90.

Mr. Findley was of the General Baptist faith, the former office manager for the U.S.D.A. Agricultural Service in Poplar Bluff for 40 years, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Dudley.

He was first united in marriage to Thelma Davis. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1968. He then married Marjorie Fisher on Dec. 20, 1979, at Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Findley survives of the home in Dudley.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Gene Findley of Dudley; one step-son, Vincent Cox of Dudley; one brother, Carma Findley of Pontiac, Mich.; two grandchildren, Kristie Hill of Farmington and Jason Findley of Dudley; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Dale Findley; and one brother, Oral Findley.

Visitation will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Webster officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
